Handling Precautions

A Product Safety Data Sheet is provided separately, detailing precautions when handling Nylon-MXD6. You are advised to read the Product Safety Data Sheet thoroughly before using Nylon-MXD6.

Some of the key points are listed below. Your perusal and observance of the following rules are important to ensure safety. (Note, however, that each manufacturer is required to do their own research regarding the safety of any additives they wish to use, other than MGC's Nylon-MXD6.)

Safety and Hygiene

Do not directly touch the heated Nylon-MXD6. Operators engaged in drying and melting processes must wear safety goggles, gloves and protective gear. Install local ventilators.

Small particles that are released into the air when first opening the Nylon-MXD6 package or when heating it will irritate mucous membranes. Therefore, it is necessary to wear protective goggles, gloves and the like, and to install local ventilation or other appropriate protective measures.

Flammability

Nylon-MXD6 is flammable, therefore, there should be no fire source nearby when handling or storing Nylon-MXD6. Beware of the emission of toxic gases if Nylon-MXD6 catches fire. Use water or a foam or powder extinguisher to put out the fire.

Disposal

Dispose of Nylon-MXD6 by land filling or incineration.

Land filling must be consigned to authorized industrial waste disposing companies or local governments, in accordance with the Law on the Disposal and Cleaning of Industrial Waste.

When incinerating Nylon-MXD6, observe the various rules and regulations stipulated in the Air Pollution Control Law and related ordinances. Beware that toxic gases may be produced when incinerating Nylon-MXD6.

Storage

Store Nylon-MXD6 in a cool, dark place and avoid exposure to direct sunlight and humidity. Nylon-MXD6 containing moisture may cause foaming during extrusion molding. When storing an opened Nylon-MXD6 container, apply a heat seal and other appropriate measures to tightly seal and store it.

Molding

When mixing Nylon-MXD6 with other materials for molding, it is important to operate under appropriate temperatures. Please contact MGC before using Nylon-MXD6 mixed with other substances for molding.

Precautions on Grade Selection

Different grades of Nylon-MXD6 are provided to suit different applications. Contact MGC for details. If you are planning to use Nylon-MXD6 in medical, therapeutic or food-handling areas, or to use it directly contacting the human body, please contact one of MGC's representatives for a detailed consultation.

Other Considerations

When planning to use Nylon-MXD6, also pay close attention to the industrial property rights.
