Waste Reduction and Resource Recycling

Each MGC Group company is striving to reduce industrial waste by promoting the 3Rs of waste (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle), and to undertake the proper disposal of waste in accordance with law.

Basic Approach to Resource Use

The MGC Group promotes the efficient use of resources (including raw materials, water resources, fuels, and energy) and the development of innovative process technologies at its domestic and overseas production sites, which increases production efficiency and reduces the environmental impact of its production activities. With these initiatives, the MGC Group endeavors to reduce industrial waste emissions and final disposal amount. Further, the waste generated during product manufacturing and the waste disposed of after the use of products lead to Scope 3 GHG emissions. The MGC Group will therefore strive to reduce waste in this regard as well.

Zero Industrial Waste Emissions Rate (Non-consolidated and Domestic MGC Group)

MGC (non-consolidated) and domestic MGC Group companies have defined the industrial waste emissions rate as the percentage obtained by dividing the final disposal amount of industrial waste by the amount of industrial waste generated. They are working to reduce the rate to zero.
The emissions rate is positioned as a KPI in the Grow UP 2026 plan, and the target for fiscal 2026 is 1.2% or lower.
The emissions rate in fiscal 2024 was 1.2%.
