About Us
Greetings

Under the Mission of the Mitsubishi Gas Chemical Group—Creating value to share with society—we operate as a corporate group that continues to earn the high trust of society. Our actions are rooted in our philosophy: Create value and contribute to societal growth and harmony through application of chemistry.
To ensure the continuing growth of society, we must nurture talented individuals to lead the next generation. As a company, our most important asset in maintaining sustainable operations is our people. The challenges surrounding human resource development are not unique to Japan but are common worldwide. Indeed, they can be said to be a top priority, especially in rapidly growing countries.
The Mitsubishi Gas Chemical Group has operated in Southeast Asian countries, including Thailand and Indonesia, for many years. Creating an adequate learning environment and providing research support for motivated students in these countries are duties expected of companies in terms of social contributions and responsibility. In particular, support for international students will contribute to human resource development in, as well as the growth of these countries, to which we are indebted.
Through the Mitsubishi Gas Chemical Memorial Foundation, the Mitsubishi Gas Chemical Group supports the young people who will shape the future.

Statement of Founding Principles
Mitsubishi Gas Chemical Company, Inc. which operates in a wide range of fields from basic chemicals to fine chemicals and functional materials, was established in October 1971 through the merger of Mitsubishi Edogawa Chemical Co., Ltd. and Japan Gas Chemical Co., Inc. Since then, based on our technologies related to catalysts, synthesis, polymerization, and biotechnology, we have independently developed and brought to market a variety of technologies and products, including BT resin semiconductor packaging materials, meta-xylene derivatives, electronic chemicals, and deoxidizers. In addition, as a pioneer in overseas expansion, we have successfully led numerous overseas projects, beginning with the Saudi Arabia Methanol Project in 1983. The Company celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2021.
Against this backdrop, in 2017, we were honored to receive the Ichimura Prize in Industry for Outstanding Achievement. This prize recognizes our contributions to advancing the industrial sector through the development of high-refractive-index, low-birefringence specialty polycarbonate resin.
Following the award, we established the Mitsubishi Gas Chemical Memorial Foundation as part of our 50th anniversary commemorative project. Through the Foundation, we aim to support promising individuals who wish to pursue research in chemistry, chemical engineering, and related fields that creates value for society, and to provide grants for research in these areas.
The Company has adopted a new Mission: Creating value to share with society. With this mission in mind, we are committed to harnessing the power of chemistry to develop products and technologies that are valued by society and meet its needs, solving social challenges we face, and contributing to realizing a sustainable society. We sincerely hope the activities of the Foundation will help advance these aims.
