MGC has three research laboratories that directly report to their companies.
Each plant has its own Research & Development Department that deals with improvements in production technologies and applied research of the products. The MGC Chemical Analysis Center, which directly reports to the Research & Development Division, provides the entire company with analysis and safety testing services.

Corporate Research aims to create new core businesses in promising areas for the future from the medium- and long-term perspective. The R&D Administration Department within the Corporate Group plans research themes and commissions the research to respective research laboratories according to specific topics of research.
On the other hand, Company R&D mainly aims to reinforce competitive businesses and develop new products based on existing products and technologies. Research is conducted in the respective Research & Development Departments of the respective companies.
The Research & Development Division deals with adjustments and administrative operations for companies to increase the R&D Administration Department, as well as the planning and promotion of Corporate Research, to generate greater Group synergy.
Research & Development Departments of each plant actively promote technical and human interaction and support the research of other companies in their areas of expertise.
