In order for MGC to continue to develop as a highly differentiated, widely recognized chemicals group operating from a strong platform of proprietary technology, we make a strong effort in research and development. The number of employees engaged in R&D activities total approximately 830 (consolidated, approximately 17% of all employees), and in 2009, the R&D costs account for around 4% of sales.
