Adamantane is the most stable alicyclic compound, with ten carbons having the same structure as diamond.

Mitsubishi Gas Chemical has succeeded in synthesizing Adamantanol derivatives using its own oxidation technology. This allows various derivatives with special characteristics such as photoresist monomers for ArF lithography to be provided.
